The Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) deals with preventing and reducing disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment, with a focus on recycling, reuse and treatment of WEEE to protect the environment.
